Cold Chain
Storage, transport and processing of temperature sensitive goods.A cold chain is a temperature-controlled supply chain. An unbroken cold chain is an uninterrupted series of storage and distribution activities which maintain a given temperature range.
It is used to help extend and ensure the shelf life of products such as fresh agricultural products, seafood, frozen food, photographic film, chemicals, and pharmaceutical drugs or any type of temperature sensitive goods.
Such products, during transport and when in transient storage, are called cool cargo. To ensure that the needed conditions are given at all times wireless sensors are used. They collect the data and transmit them to the dedicated point(s) or store them for later use.
