Sensoring active
The difference between active and passive sensors is the battery powered technology of the active components for data collection / detection. This allows a data collection over a defined period of time. Thus conclusions can be drawn about the development of the measured data.
These can be very important to define / start appropriate decisions / actions. Furthermore, a battery-operated sensor also functions as a transmitter with considerably greater range than a passive sensor (without battery).
